Wed, 22 Feb 2012 21:29:31 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.7 en hourly 1 Welcome! http://www.josemorales.org/?p=166 http://www.josemorales.org/?p=166#comments Sat, 16 May 2009 14:19:22 +0000 joemango http://www.joemango.com/?p=166 I am Dr. Jose Andre Morales, currently a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University in the CERT program of the Software Engineering Institute.  My main research area is behavior-based malware detection and analysis:  Defining and modeling virus behavior, replication techniques, distribution methods and detection avoidance.  Characterizing distinct forms of behavior derived from the execution of different malware classes.  My current research focus is in creating new behavior based approaches to identify different forms of malware based on fundamental characteristics.  I am the creator and chief architect of OMAS, an online service performing behavior-based analysis on binary objects in a safe and isolated environment.   I am co-founder and moderator of the HispanicPhD mailing list and profiles.  I received my Ph.D. in computer science from Florida International University in April 2008.  I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and my parents are from Cuba.  Browse my website to learn more about me and my research and thank you for visiting my website.
